The Social Committee of Tobermore L.O.L.2391, aka “F.O.O.L.s (Friends of Our Lodge), hosted an afternoon of Hockey on February 12th at the County Orange Hall in Toronto.
The day began with a lunch of lasagna, soup and hot drinks for the participants, their families and visitors. After lunch, the action moved outdoors with two teams of players, exhibiting varying skills, faced-off in a couple of games of ball hockey. The event coincided with CBC’s “Annual “Hockey Day in Canada” presentation on the National Network. The players spent the better part of the afternoon exhibiting their running, shooting, stick-handling and passing abilities in an effort to keep warm in the -7C temperature.
Worshipful Master Tom Forster noted that “it was one of the best events hosted by the Social Committee in a long time” and that “the involvement of entire families certainly contributed to the success”. The success of the event and the enjoyment of those taking part will likely make this day a fixture on the Lodge’s calendar of events.
On Saturday April the 9th, Tobermore L.O.L.2391 will hold a social event at the County Orange Hall. The evening will include popular board games for the adults and movies and popcorn for the youngsters.
